Obituary
Maryann Young, age 78 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on Saturday June 6, 2015. She was born in Port Chester, NY to the late Marvin Young and Marion Robertson Young on November 19, 1936.
Maryann, known as Andie to most, attended Edgemont School and Emma Willard School before attending Randolph Macon Woman’s College. She studied the art of painted surfaces in New York City at The Isabel O’Neil Studio. Andie had a love for art and design. She had a unique eye for color harmonies and compositions. Her creative nature shown through her work at Spadea Fashions and later as an interior designer. Andie’s talent was exhibited at the first Bucks County Designer House in 1971. During her retirement in Texas she painted award-winning water colors.
Andie created beautifully rich environments for her family. Her thoughtful nature was displayed in the details of every birthday party, Easter egg hunt and horse show picnic basket for her three children.
She, with her former spouse, Robert L. Walter III, designed and built their own home in Bucks County, which was located between the two family farms.
She truly enjoyed summer weather, gardening and her time spent seaside. Family and friends, horses and dogs were a natural part of Andie’s life. Her unrelenting love of her family, and her kindness showed over in her work at Pleasant Manor, caring for the needs of those children who could not care for themselves.
Andie is survived by her brother, Christopher Young, and sister, Patricia Young-Walentine, children, Tracy Walter Stunja and her husband Joe Stunja of Kingwood TX, Robert L. Walter IV and his wife Robin Walter of State College, PA, and Joy Marion Walter and her husband Michael Pierce of Pipersville, PA. Known to them as Grandie, she also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, David and Mary Liz Stunja, Bobby, Gina and Curtis Walter, and Devon Walter and five beautiful nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in July at her family farm.
Andie’s giving nature was an inspiration. She would so enjoy philanthropic gestures in her memory, or memorial donations may be sent to S.P.C.A. of Polk County, 802 S. Houston Ave, Livingston, TX 77351 or Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Rd, Solbury, PA 18963.
