Terence Allen Purifoy

January 12, 1962 - November 3, 2020

Our beloved son, brother, uncle, friend – Terence “Terry” Allen Purifoy – passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born January 12, 1962, in Austin, Texas, to Dorothy Martin Powell, who precedes him in death, and Jesse Purifoy. He is survived by his father Jesse and stepmother Catherine Purifoy, stepfather Ken Powell, and sisters Amy Hutchings, Jennifer Chase, Emily Frith, Jessica Owens, and Helen Melton, as well as 5 nephews and 8 nieces.

A devoted son and brother, he found a passion in music and for many years was in The Goodbye Boys. Following his time with the band, he built a lucrative sound and stage business. As a result, he was well known to the Houston music industry. He had a larger-than-life personality and with it the ability to make everybody feel like they were his best friend. His loud booming laugh will be missed by all.

Service Information

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at Darst Funeral Home in the garden.
