Jim Rose was born in Jackson, KY, and grew up in Campton, KY. He graduated from Millersburg Military Academy at age 16, and attended Eastern College. He then transferred to Morehead State University, where he graduated in 1965.

Jim joined the Army in 1966 and Honorably served his country until 1968.

In 1972, at age 32, Jim registered at South Texas College of Law, and after graduating from South Texas, went to work in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, as a prosecutor. Three short years later, Jim left the DA’s office, and became partners with Jim Spradlin, in what turned out to be a friendship and partnership that spanned 38 years. Together, in 1979, they formed A-Rose Bonding Company, which was one of the most successful bonding companies, until its sale in 2000.

Jim Rose was a most caring, giving, generous, loving man who loved life and loved people. He loved helping people. Throughout his successful career, he represented a multitude of people, many of whom he did so at no cost.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Rose Pence, father, Malcolm Holiday Rose and step father, Earl Pence. He leaves behind his loyal and trusted assistant of 36 years, Brenda Webb, her husband, Ronny Webb and his beloved Sarah Webb, and many friends and colleagues.

Jim will be laid to rest next to his beloved Mother, in Richmond, Kentucky at a later date.
Visitation: A visitation was held on 2015-07-23 at Darst Funeral Home.
