Ralls, Eldon S

April 6, 1951 - September 2, 2018

Eldon Stephen (Steve) Ralls, age 67, died unexpectedly on September 2, 2018, at his Kingwood home. He was born on April 6, 1951 in Pasadena, Texas to Eldon and Dorothy (Cauble) Ralls.

Steve began his career as a West University Firefighter in 1974 and retired as Fire Chief in 2013. In his 39 years of service he was a friend, mentor and leader to those who had the opportunity to know him. Steve was responsible for many advances in the Fire and Emergency Management Services for the City of West University Place. He loved his family with his whole heart and was a devoted husband, father and Pop. Some of Steve’s favorite pastimes were fishing and boating; he truly loved getting out on the water and sitting in the stillness of nature. He was also an avid Astros and Texans fan and enjoyed trying his luck at the casinos from time to time.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Bridget (McShane), their daughter Cara and husband Peter Neumann, son Mike and his wife Melissa Ralls, daughter Beverly and her husband Peter Melera; his brother Mark; his grandchildren Peter, Kayla, Emily, Dylan and Brandon. Steve was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Willa and Cynthia, and brother Patrick.

Steve will be greatly missed the Ralls and McShane family members, his friends and colleagues who appreciated his wisdom and his kind and generous nature.
