OBITUARY

If you hear the click of high heels walking into heaven, they belong to Moira Angela Adams. She was born in Dumfriesshire, Scotland but most recently resided in Kingwood, Texas. At age 79, she peacefully crossed through the pearly gates on January 24, 2023.

Moira was a beauty queen and a Camay print model during her early years and went on to become a skilled hairdresser. She later opened her own salon and was honored to compete in hair shows with greats like Vidal Sassoon. “He won the night-time look but I took the daytime award,” she would proudly tell us.

Moira was a dynamic soul with a dazzling smile. Her infectious personality harvested many lifelong friendships wherever her travels took her. Moira had a zest for life and was always optimistic, seeing the good in everyone. If you were fortunate enough to know her, you likely shared stories over a cup of piping hot tea!

Her life would lead her to many foreign lands including Venezuela, where she met her American husband, Clifford. Full of adventure, unexpected turns, and extensive travel, this union that would last the rest of their lifetimes.

She was a loving and dedicated wife of 38 years and a devoted mother who loved and supported her girls unconditionally.

Moira was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Adams. She is survived by her three children, daughter Samantha Craig; daughter Tiffany Craig; daughter Vanessa Craig Haines and her husband Davis Haines II and their four children, Everett, Owen, Lily, and Sawyer. Her sisters: Margaret Sword of Clarencefield and Jenny Crombie of Annan, along with a host of other family members across the pond.

We would like to express our profound gratitude for the love, friendship, and compassion she received from all the caregivers over the last several years. As mom showed us, it’s never too late to make new friends!

In honor of Moira’s life, we invite you to wear something pink and join us on Saturday the 11th of February 2023. The Celebration of Life will be a joint service for Clifford and Moira Adams at Darst Funeral Home on 796 Russell Palmer Road in Kingwood at 2pm.

  1. So sorry for your loss. Moria is now at Peace and will be remembered by many. May her beautiful memories live on. Revelation 21:3 & 4, Isaiah 33:24

  2. High heels and a feather boa. It was a joy to have known Moira. Love to Tiffany, Vanessa, Samantha, and all those who miss Moira deeply.

  3. Moira was so very special to me, and I truly loved her. Moiras beautiful soul filled 3 roles for me; best friend, mentor, and mom figure. Moira kept me alive when I thought I would not survive another day of a tremendously difficult time in my life. She gave all she could to my son and I. To this day we are both forever grateful. I still hear her laugh, see her radiant smile, and feel her genuine love. Moira was the kindest person I’ve ever met in my life. Her physical beauty was breath taking. When talking about her to anyone who would listen, I always said “She is so beautiful on the outside, but so much more beautiful on the inside.” As I’m typing this tears are streaming down my face. The Word lost a real life Angel. I have always loved, admired, and appreciated you Moira more than words can express!! Love always Stacey and Cevann ❤ ❤

  4. Moira was gentle and charming, and gracefully adventurous lady. It was truly a blessing for me to have known her. I will forever cherish and treasure the memories we shared. Thank you so much Moira. I miss you.

  5. What a touching tribute for an extraordinary soul. I can see Moira’s beauty, sparkle, and zeal for life reflected in Tiffany—and likely her other daughters, although we haven’t met—and know she lives on in them.

Ladies, I wish you safe harbor from your sorrows.

  6. I know Moira loved her girls more than life itself and you all know how much she loved life! I know this because she told me so! I know she was beautiful inside and out and made everyone feel special, it was one of her biggest gifts! She has left an amazing legacy, her girls, Samantha, Tiffany, and Vanessa who reflect her complete beauty physically and soulfully! She was so proud of you and she lives on through each of you with every smile, every kindness, every bit of love, every compassion and soft tenacity that you extend and express! My heart is with you always and Moira will be remembered in such a special way because she was such a special lady! ♥️ ♥️

  7. This was as close to perfect as perfect gets !
Moira and Cliff were humble person’s whom I know without a doubt we’re watching from their heavenly position with hearts completely full with knowing that they had fulfilled their purpose on this earth.
To see and know that those they loved and cherished were celebrating their transition from this earth, even with heavy hearts we all know that once again a union made so perfect by God is now a union perfect with God.
My husband was right when he said ” a union given by God” is still a union in heaven.
Cliff, Moira I know you’ll always be within us and above us and always loving us all.

  8. I didn’t know her, but I knew her from Tiffany’s eyes and heart. She went in peace loving her family! May God bless her and her wonderful family!
