Obituary
Louis Edmond Scott, 83, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
Louis was born to Lawrence Edward Scott and Julia Belle Walters Scott on February 17, 1939, in Vaden, Arkansas. His family relocated to Dallas, Texas where Louis graduated high school from Crozier Tech in 1957. After graduation, Louis served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1961. After completing the Marine Corps Louis attended Howard Payne University and the University of Houston graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
After graduation, he made a career in the insurance industry until retiring to take care of his ailing mother and younger brother.
While attending Howard Payne University, Louis met Elaine Brewer and the two later married in Houston, Texas. Together they proudly reared four children: Stacy, Brett, Leslie and Drew.
Louis’ passions were his family and his Christian faith. He loved coaching his daughter’s softball teams, being the most boisterous fan in the stands at his kids’ sporting events, taking naps in the back of the boat on fishing trips or simply doing yard work. He was most happy when he was with his family. He was a devout Christian and attended Unity Baptist Church in Porter, Texas where he enjoyed singing with his friends in worship and participating in Bible study.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Edward Scott and Julia Belle Walters Scott and his brother, Ronald Scott. Louis is survived by his wife, Elaine Brewer Scott, his children, Stacy Dannenfelser and husband Brian, Brett Scott and wife Jennifer, Leslie Goff and husband Mark, and Drew Scott. He also leaves behind 12 wonderful grandchildren. Louis is also survived by his furry best friend and constant companion, Buddy.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Unity Baptist Church, 21772 E. Memorial Drive, Porter, Texas 77365 or International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P.O. Box 97339, Washington, D.C. 20077-7472 info@ifcj.org

Louis touched so many hearts at FBC Alba. He was truly compassionate about serving the Lord. I’m sure he will be missed by all his church families. I’m thankful I had the opportunity to get to know him. I know he is praising God in Heaven right now.
Thank you!
