Leonard Louis Gurney was born September 25, 1950 to Edward and Julia Gurney in Marlin, Texas. He passed away on October 25, 2022. Leonard spent his childhood on a farm in Bremond, Texas, riding horses and fishing local ponds and lakes. He moved to Houston in the late 70’s and found work at Crown Zellerback paper company. There he met his bride of 37 years. Leonard and Zandra worked hard and created a loving home for their children, family and friends. They often pitched a tent and enjoyed a good campfire. Later in life they traveled by cruise lines to different countries. Leonard worked as a machinist at Boring Specialties and later retired from Timken Ind. In retirement he loved riding his horse Lady, fishing in his boat and spending time with family. His deliciously famous smoked brisket and barbeque ribs brought family and friends together to share a meal. His strong calm presence will be missed.
