OBITUARY

Kathleen Honea, age 86, passed peacefully on March 20, 2022. She was born in Robertson County, Texas to her parents Annie Belle and John Calvin Kuykendall on June 10, 1935. Records in Robertson County show her birth as June 11 but she always celebrated on the 10th. Kathleen graduated from La Porte High School in 1954 and married J Thomas Honea on July 13, 1955. They settled in Pasadena, Texas where they raised their two daughters. Later in life moving to Houston, Texas to be close to family.

Kathleen was a very kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She always had an open heart and open home to anyone that needed her kindness and support. Kathleen loved God and was a member of the Church of Christ for many years.

Preceded in death by her husband J Thomas Honea, brother Edward Kuykendall and her parents.

Kathleen is survived by one sibling, Wayne Kuykendall, two daughters and their spouses, Ginger Hamil and husband Robert D., Kitty Kinstley and husband Michael. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Neal Hamil and wife Allie, Colton Kinstley and wife Emily, Chelsea Brewer and husband Billy Ray, Keaton Kinstley and wife Martha, Collin Kinstley and six great-grandchildren Isaiah Kinstley; Raylan, Brinley, and Layton Brewer; Bo and Emma Hamil.

In addition, she is survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In Kathleen’s final year of life, she lived at Fountainwood Senior Living where she made many friends and was loved by all.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022 at Darst Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Robertson County Shiloh Cemetery in Franklin, Texas.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022 at Darst Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Robertson County Shiloh Cemetery in Franklin, Texas.

  1. Dear Kitty and Ginger – your sweet, dear Mom was such a bright light during my visits at Fountainwood! She was such a joy to be around, with her energy, sass, and warmth. I will miss her dearly, and even more will miss seeing the two of you and the unique friendship and bond our Fountainwood family shared.
