Ian Silk

January 3, 1946 - November 23, 2022

Ian Patrick Silk was born on January 3, 1946 to Francis and Ethel Silk in Bolsover, England. He passed away on November 23, 2022 in his home surrounded by family.

Ian was a devoted family man, husband, and father. He moved to the United States when he was young, and grew up in New York City. He met the love of his life, married her, and moved his family to Texas where he was a resident of Kingwood for over 40 years. His three children – while very much like him in their own ways – took on his wife’s boisterous personality. Ian was always the quiet one in the room, but he was always smiling at the uninhibited joy in front of him… and likely deafened by the ear-ringing laughter he was constantly surrounded by. He was a dedicated member of St. Martha Catholic Church. His devotion to his wife was never clearer than how quickly he joined Cathy in heaven, having joined her only two short months after she passed away.

He is survived by his daughters Valerie (Lindsay Silk-Kremenak), Maureen, and Catherine (Jody McCarty); grandchildren, Collin and Emily.

Visitation will be held at Darst Funeral Home (796 Russell Palmer Rd, Kingwood, TX 77339) on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5pm-7pm (rosary at 6pm). Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Martha Catholic Church, Holy Family Chapel (4301 Woodridge Pkwy, Porter, TX 77365) on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10:30am. Interment followed at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, TX.

For those desiring, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Parkinson’s Foundation.

One condolence on “Ian Silk”

Dennis & David Cannon says:

I’m sorry we are not there in person to honor this quiet, unassuming gentleman and the life he led. A friend and family member from the moment I met him and the constant care taker of my dear friend Cathy, whom he loved and adored. Heartfelt condolences to his three daughters (who are TOTALLY awesome in tier individual ways), it’s tough to lose them both so close together, but rejoice in the fact that they are together again in heaven! Love to all at this difficult time.
