Helga Luise Agnes Burk, 89, passed away on November 1, 2022. Helga was born December 31, 1932 to Walter and Herta Gehring in Wallendorf, Germany. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Helga learned her trade as a seamstress while living in Germany. She was a seamstress for 50+ years. She worked at Julian Gold in Corpus Christi and in San Antonio, Texas. Helga married the love of her life, Friedrich Burk, on August 17, 1957, at the Centerville Chapel in Augsburg, Germany. In 1963 their first son, Robert, was born in Stuttgart, Germany. They were stationed in Germany until 1965 when they came to America. In 1966 their second son, David, was born at Fort Benning Georgia. Helga lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for 28 years, moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1996 and lived there until 2012 when she moved to Kingwood, Texas to be near her children and granddaughters. In retirement Helga enjoyed sewing, especially for her granddaughters, Katie and Annie. Helga was a very honest, kind, truthful, and giving person. She loved being a military wife and coming to America. She was very proud to be an American citizen. Helga was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, Oma, mother-in-law, and friend. Her presence on this earth is greatly missed, but we rejoice in our faith that she has been called home to be with our Lord.
