Heinrich Silvio Johannes Behrend

Mr. Heinrich Silvio Johannes Behrend, 84, was born on March 12, 1938 in Kiel, Germany.

As a young man, he traveled the world working as a merchant seaman. He decided the settle his family in California, where his life adventures flourished.

Working, raising a family, attending church, and being a man of the woodworking craftsman trade, he used his abilities, and intellect to be a self made businessman/entrepreneur first in the Pool and Spa business and then his and mom’s treasure was opening A Taste of Germany Restaurant in Humble, TX.

He has endured many challenges along the way, but his strong work ethic and his unwavering ability to see things through, has allowed us family and friends to enjoy many solid years with him.

He is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Gisela Behrend, and his oldest daughter, Monika Golden.

He is survived by his three children, Bernhard Behrend, Angelika Preston, and Dagmar Harmon, Eleven Grand Children, and Twenty Two Great Grand Children.

He will Always be Loved and Remembered as our Pappa Bear.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., March 29, 2022 at Darst Funeral Home. A reception will be held immediately following services.
