OBITUARY

Celebrating the Life of George “Eddie” Councell. Born to James and Ruby Councell on February 6, 1952, in Houston, TX. Eddie unexpectedly fell ill and passed away at the age of 70 on February 20, 2022 at home with his family by his side.

Eddie followed his father’s footsteps and served in the Air Force for 4 years. He lived in Japan at a very early age and grew up in Maryland and eventually settled back in Houston, TX. Eddie had a passion for driving with a long career driving a rollback truck, where he delivered big equipment to companies all over Texas.

Eddie was married to Sandra Councell for 32 years. The two were soul mates and best friends. They spent many nights laughing, listening to all types of music, and looked forward to ending the day watching a pre-recorded Jeopardy episode.

Growing up on a farm, Eddie was milking cows at the age of eight and never lost his love of nature and gardening. He had a fascination with space and the knowledge to match. He was a loyal Astros fan and never missed a game. He enjoyed grilling, tinkering around the house, and watching his grandkids play and grow. Eddie will be remembered as a gentle, kind, generous and patient man with an infectious smile. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survived by his wife Sandra; mother Ruby; daughters Sherry, Angela (Jack), Theresa (Karl), Susan (Ely), and Jennifer (Rafael); grandchildren Travis, Jaxson, Landon, Alexandra, and Sofia, nieces Tammy (James) and Bridgett; nephew Kevin; and many loving great nieces and nephews.
