OBITUARY

Felicitas “Fela” Cruz-Chin was called home peacefully to be with the Lord on February 10, 2022. She is united in Heaven with her father, Herculano Cruz, and her sister, Clementina C. Treviño.

Fela was born in Houston, Texas on March 7, 1973. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Derrick P. Chin and her two sons Daniel and David Chin. Her mother, Maria Andrea Cruz, and her mother-in-law, Norma Chin. Her sister, Sylvia Garza and her brothers Jose, Juan, Fernando, Ricardo, Antonio “Tony” Cruz. Several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, brothers and sisters-in law, as well as many friends.

Fela worked at St. Ignatius Early Childhood Center for six years where she was well respected and loved by the faculty and students. She also mentored at Kaiser Elementary where she helped students grow in their development and education. Fela was very dedicated to her family and was an active member of Mittelstadt Elementary. She was also an Army veteran who served our country proudly in the United States Army Reserves.

She was respected and liked by everyone who came in contact with her and her charming personality and was well loved by those who got to know her.

Her Loving spirit will be missed by her husband, children, family and many, many friends.

Service Information

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 21, 2002 from 6pm until 8 pm at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11 am at St. Ignatius Loyola with graveside services to follow at 1 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands.
