Everlanka, Robert (Bob) T
Robert T. (Bob) Everlanka, 63, passed away on February 3, 2015, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Bob was a loving husband, devoted father, doting son, exceptional friend and caring employer. He was born on July 9, 1951, in New York City and is survived by his parents, Robert S. and Anna Lind Everlanka of Palm City, FL.
Bob graduated from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ, and Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn., with a B.S. degree in business. He earned his M.B.A. from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
In March 1985, Bob married Karen Sterr. They lived in New York City and Chicago before moving to Kingwood, TX, in 1987. Together they had two children, Meghan Kelly Everlanka (fiancé, Paul Joseph Sipio) and Ian Robert Everlanka.
He was proud to see Meghan pass the New Jersey and New York bars and become a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. Adding to his joy was observing Ian graduate from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, this past November.
Bob shared his love for traveling with his family, especially cruises and trips to Disney World with Nana and Pop Pop. He was fond of Irish music, playing the guitar, trips to Maui and spending time with his family at the Jersey shore. He also loved reading; friends and family would often find him lost in a book. Together with his best friend, Bob Kuczik, Bob made it to Woodstock in 1969 in time to see The Who.
Bob owned two Remedy Staffing offices in Houston for almost 25 years and is thankful to his team for their support and love. The family would like to thank Dr. Amato and his staff at Memorial Hermann Cancer Center – Texas Medical Center.
He is survived by his sister, Dr. Eileen Birch (David) of Dallas; his mother-in-law, Caroline Sterr of Linwood, NJ; his sister-in-law, Lori Montgomery (John) of Linwood, NJ; and nephews Michael Birch and Charlie and Ben Kleva. He is predeceased by his father-in-law, John L. Sterr.
