Obituary

David (Dave) Russell Fonseca, Born April 26, 1942, in New Orleans Louisiana finished his race comfortably December 17th, 2022, at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by his father Telles Fonseca, his mother Veronica (Tootsie) Picone Fonseca, His sister Barbara Fonseca Laporte, Nephews Joseph & Tony Laporte.

David is survived by his loving wife Patsy Mayo Fonseca. Sons and their wives Teles David & Brandy Nicole Fonseca, and Jon-David & Jewel Anne Fonseca. Stepchildren and spouses, Derald & Melissa Grimes, and April & Patrick Bierle. Nephew Daniel (Tookie) Laporte, and numerous extended family members and loving friends.

He is also survived by his grandchildren who affectionately referred to David as Pepaw, or Grandpa Dave; Granddaughters Camryn Nicole Fonseca, Brooklyn Michelle & Payton Elizabeth Bierle, Madison Faith Grimes. Grandsons Trace David & Nickolas James Fonseca, Paxton John Bierle, and Owen Lee Grimes. David had many nicknames, Dave, Mr. Mom, Super Dave, Old Man, Pops, but none that he cherished more that Pepaw, or Grandpa Dave.

David joined the U.S. Naval Reserves in his Junior year of high school at Terrebonne Parish High School. Upon Graduation from high school David enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving for four years. One of his fondest stations was in Nova Scotia Canada. which he enjoyed telling many colorful stories of. Upon his honorable discharge David returned to Houma Louisiana to work in the oilfield. Moving on to sales in the oilfield, then the recreational vehicle sales, then on to many different ventures in sales.   David traveled extensively pursuing his passion for life. Living in many places ranging from Dunnellon Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, before finally settling in Humble Texas where he enjoyed his later years.

David had many passions, most of which involved being outdoors. Hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, and cooking were some of his joys in life. He lived life to the fullest making many friends along the way with his outspoken nature. Probably the most notable trait of David is he was genuine.
