Cherie Denise Reddick

OBITUARY

Cherie Denise Reddick, 55, of Livingston, Texas, gained her angel wings and went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2023, in Houston, Texas.

Cherie was born on September 12, 1967, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Throughout her entire life, she grew up with the strongest love for horses. Even during her teenage years, she was a competitive barrel racer and could always be found on the back of a horse. With her first husband during a short marriage, she gave birth to her only daughter, Danielle.

Cherie is survived by her husband Charles of 27 years; her daughter and son-in-law Danielle and Michael Shair; her mother Barbara Cook; grandchildren Logan Savelle and Alyson Shair; her brother and sister-in-law John and Judy Patterson along with their children Jennifer and John; and her sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Glenn Neimeyer with their children.

While working at DHL as a young single mother, she took night courses at Houston Community College to study real estate, where she earned her real estate license. This is where she met and fell in love with Charles. After dating for many years, Cherie and Charles married on March 18, 1995, in Spring, Texas.

Cherie’s dream and goal in life was to one day have a horse ranch of her own, and with her husband’s help and support, her dream came true with the establishment of Reddick Ranch in 1997. After working full-time at DHL for 12 years and part-time real estate for 5 years, she decided to focus solely on expanding the ranch. She was truly passionate about God and horses, and her love showed through the high-quality paint and quarter horses she bred and raised. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, meat processing, and helping anyone in need.

Cherie had an insatiable thirst for learning, and once she put her mind to wanting to learn to do something, nothing could stand in her way. She also had a pure heart of gold and will be greatly missed by not only her family and her favorite cat Jack, but also the many friends she made through the multiple associations she was a member of in the horse world.

In honor of Cherie, a celebration of life will be held at the Polk County Youth Rodeo Association arena in Livingston, TX on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cherie’s GoFundMe account.

  1. Cherie I miss our chats together about horses and life. Through our love of horses developed a friendship that I will treasure always!! I am still in disbelief that you have gone to be an angel so young!! If I didn’t live do far away, I would definitely be at your celebration of life!! Ironically it is the same day as Roxy’s birth, the filly I purchased off of you in 2019. Ride those ponies in heaven and pet your pups sweet friend. Big hugs to your hubby and daughter and prayers for all of your family and friends.
