Obituary
On January 19, 2023 Carole Rae Knight Cossey passed away at age 84. She was born on March 27, 1938, in Port Arthur, TX. to Joe B. Knight and Grace M. Knight. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald R. Cossey (Jerry), they were married for 58 years.
Carole was a Comptroller for Pipeline Supply in Houston, TX. for 15 years before her retirement in July 2009. Carole looked forward to having more time to spend with her family and traveling. In April 2011, Carole, unfortunately suffered a debilitating stroke, leaving her with deficits she was not able to rehabilitate from. With the love and support of her husband, family and friends she survived the next 12 years being cared for and loved on until she was called home to be with our Lord. She is no longer in pain and is now walking the Golden Streets of Heaven with her husband Jerry, whom she has missed so much.
Carole leaves behind her daughter Peggy Davis and son-in-law Steven, son Sam LaQuey and daughter-in-law Doris and son Dennis L. Cossey and daughter-in-law Michelle. Grandchildren (Peggy’s) Alison Rosendahl and husband Thomas and Kimberly Dannemiller and husband Collin; (Sam’s) Mackenzie Ortiz and husband Jose and Madison LaQuey; (Dennis’) Kalyn Cossey and fiancé Chris Susaita, Carrie Collins and husband Trevor; and her only grandson Justin R. Cossey. Great Grandchildren Makenna Alcala, Sarah Rosendahl, Bristol Collins, Cooper Dannemiller, Charlotte Dannemiller and Jameson Ortiz.
Carole loved her family and she will be dearly missed. We love you Nana! Services will be held on January 31 from 10am-12pm at Darst Funeral Home, 700 Russell Palmer Rd. Kingwood, TX. 77339. Procession following services to Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, TX. 77038 where there will be a brief graveside service.
Service Information
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Darst Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Darst Funeral Home Chapel with Barry Wilson officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038. If you are going to the graveside service please arrive at 12:45 and park in lane 1.
