Grant Allen Ragland

1961 ~
 2022

OBITUARY

Grant Allen Ragland passed away July 2, 2022 after a brief but devastating illness.  He leaves his loving wife, Nancy Griffith Ragland; sons Jason, David (Wife Arielle), and Adam (girlfriend Ireland Bramhall); and grandson Thomas.  He is also survived by his mother Joy and sister Lezli (husband Michael); and many other family members, and close family friends.   He was preceded in death by his father Willie Franklin Ragland.

Grant was born in Topeka, Kansas on February 2, 1961.  The family moved to Wichita when he was 2 and lived there until he was 12.  At that time they moved to Dallas, Texas.  Grant graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1979 and then proudly, from Texas A&M in 1987 with a BBA in Accounting.

At Texas A&M he met the love of his life, Nancy Ruth Griffith, whom he married in June, 1987.  Together they  raised three sons, the greatest loving accomplishment of his life.  Grandson Thomas showed him that being a Papa was another level of wonderful.

Grant always put family first.  He was there to lend a hand or a dollar.  He was practical and protective of his extended family, as well as his immediate family.  He found celebrating his own birthday silly, but insisted on celebrating others.

Grant worked his entire career in the HVAC industry.  In 2004 he started working for Goodman Mfg, which is now Daikon Comfort Technologies.  He had an incredible work ethic  and was a will do, can do, did it guy.  He used methodical analytical approaches to solving work issues and then used those tools to help with daily life decisions as well!

He put on no pretenses, and everyone knew if he liked something or maybe wasn’t a fan. He laughed hardest at his own jokes!  Of the things he enjoyed, the beach, animals, theater, flavorful spicy HOT food, watching the birds and the Dallas Cowboys top the list.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the American Pancreatic Association or charity of your choice.
