On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, Jerry Scott, loving husband, and father passed away at the age of 69.
Jerry was born on October 5, 1952, in Jacinto City Texas. He grew up in Marquez, Texas farming and ranching. Jerry and his family worked the farm and lived off the land, and he always loved country life. Jerry was an athlete growing up and excelled at playing football, baseball, and golf. He loved to go fast, and hobbies included racing horses, boats, and cars. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His favorite sports team is the Houston Astros, and he rarely misses a game.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Merlie Winstead Marlow, stepfather Sam Winstead, sister Shannon, stepsister Linda Johnson and stepbrother David Winstead.
Jerry is survived by wife Laura, children, Kelly, Hank, Nadine, Nicole and JoLee, brothers Rex, Danny, David, stepsister Sheila Marrow, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Darst Funeral Home from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Darst Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. The burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please donate to one of the organizations that Jerry loved. Galveston Bay Foundation, Coastal Conservation Association of Texas, or Montgomery County Animal Shelter.
