Victoria “Vicky” Tizon VanGordon (Twardowski), 76, of Houston, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2021. She was born in Quezon City, Philippines on April 18, 1942. Vicky graduated from the University of St. Thomas in Manilla, Philippines & Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
Vicky taught school for 22 years in Aldine ISD. She was a dedicated 54 year member to her parish of St. Gregory the Great, Houston, TX. She led the choir, lectured and was a Religious Education Teacher and the Director of Religious Education for many years.
Vicky is preceded in death by her first husband of 24 years, Victor VanGordon, and her second husband of 23 years, Joe Twardowski. She is survived by her daughters Victoria VanGordon and Verna VanGordon Velez, her grandchildren Thaddeaus VanGordon, Garrett Normoyle, Kiana and Cristian Velez, and her three great-grandson’s Grayson, Hudson and Harrison.
Services will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, in Humble, TX on Monday, August 30, 2021. Rosary at 10:15am, Funeral Mass at 11:00am, with burial to follow at 1:00pm at the Houston National Cemetery.
