Bill and I were so sorry to hear of Marie’s passing. Marie and I spent a lot of time together when we were young children. She always had a smile on her face. She was kind and beautiful,I will miss her deeply. Our love and sympathy are with you. Marie is in the arms of our Lord now, she’s watching over you. Love Bill and Karen

Marie was my son’s Confirmation teacher back in 2011. I recall her being the kindest lady and giving the teens many gifts such as medals, Bibles, books, etc. The world has lost a wonderful soul.
Mike, my sincere condolences to you and your family. My heart goes out to you all.
We are sending our love to the Walker/Hoke families. We remember so many wonderful get togethers with our families.. Wayne and I feel so fortunate that we were able to connect while My sister Dee-Dee lived in Texas. Sweet Marie served a German dinner that we all grew up with. What a beautiful person she was both inside and out.

I never met Marie but know her sons. Was great to read about her life here and understand a little more about the origins of the great sons she raised.
Marie sat next to me in Bible study for several years. She was a delight! She had a wonderful sense of humor and her joy was contagious! She will be missed.
I have always thought of Marie as an angel here on earth. She had the kindest heart and gentlest soul. Her light will continue to shine in Heaven. My prayers are with David, Gabe and Mike. Thinking about you all.
I grew up next door to Mike Hoke and knew Marie from school. My mother loved Marie’s mother and they were longtime bowling team mates. All of my memories of Marie are of a very kind and thoughtful person. I’m praying for the Hoke and Walker families as they mourn for their beloved Marie.
Deepest Condolences, Mike.

As with many families, Thanksgiving has always been the sweetest holiday for us – the height of our holiday season. But for generosity, joy, warmth and love, the Thanksgiving I spent in the Hokes’ home-away-from-home in Libya, 1981, matches any our family ever celebrated. That was thanks to Marie and Mike. And because of them, dozens of us were among ‘family’ on that special holiday. God’s love and grace for you, Marie, and for you Mike, Gabe, David, and your extended families.
Our send our deepest condolences to the Hoke family. We are so sorry for your loss.
Condolences to you and your family, Mike.
