Sanders, Charles N.

Charles Nelson Sanders, 77, of Splendora TX, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10th, 2020 in Kingwood, Texas. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Novella Sanders on May 20, 1943.

Charles moved to Texas during his teen years. He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1962-66, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Charles was a Union Iron Worker by trade until a career ending injury in 1991. He was active in church throughout his life, in the mid to late 80’s he served as a Scout Leader for the Royal Rangers. Charles especially enjoyed traveling, cooking, action movies, WrestleMania, auto mechanics, project tinkering, and spending time with family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Novella Sanders. He is survived by his children, Misty Justice, Cindy Huckins, Jason Sanders and wife Michelle, James N. Sanders and wife Shauna; grandchildren, Jacy, Emily, Megan, Taylor, Ty-Michael, Marc, Zachary, Shane, Shahelyn and Shellby; great-grandchildren, Kyree, Harper, Lorenzo (on the way), Athena, Maliah and Lucas. Also, survived by numerous other relatives and a host of loving friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Darst Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon in the Gazebo Garden Area with a reception to follow at Darst reception area.

Interment at Houston National Cemetery to be determined.
