OBITUARY

On June 21, 2020 Marie Johnson passed away at her home in Crosby, Texas.

She was born to Charles Barnhill and Inez Montgomery on March 24, 1941 in Gerorgetown, Louisiana. She is preceded in her death by her parents, her sisters Betty Dalton, Shirley Samples and Peggy Fields, as well as her son-in-laws Charlie Walker and Charlie Rooks Sr. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Thomas Johnson, who was by her side until the very end; her daughters Karen Walker and Tina Rooks, grandchildren Chad Johnson, Kyle Walker and wife Melissa, Tiffany Murley and husband Cameron, Charlie Rooks Jr. and wife Alyssa, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She had a passion for cooking and baking, she loved watching her grandchildren play sports and spending every moment she could with all of her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing cards. Marie worked in the Food and Beverage Industry for nearly 40 years and was very passionate about her job and the relationships she established throughout the years. She will be truly missed and will be an irreplaceable figure in her family.

Honoring the family by serving as Pallbearers will be Ricky Johnson, Steve Mills, Cameron Murley, Charlie Rooks Jr., Darrell Thorne, Brian Walker and Kyle Walker. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mark Golibart.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25 from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Fellowship of the Nations, 13305 Woodforest Blvd., Houston, Texas 77015. Interment will follow at Sterling White Cemetery.

  2. Marie always had a smile on her face and seemed to enjoy life! Very warm and giving person as all her family is. I will miss her and send love and prayers to her family. So sorry I cannot be with you during this time. Love and prayers!
