OBITUARY

NANCY JOSEPHINE BORST DUGAN made her final transition at the age of 85 on Friday, September 20th of 2019 in Texas City, Texas. Her Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Friday, October 4th of 2019 in Kingwood, Texas at Darst Funeral Home at 796 Russell Palmer Rd., Kingwood, TX 77339. from 11am – 2pm.

She was born to Mahlon and Mabel Borst in Olean, New York on January 18, 1934. During nursing school, she married John Dugan of Erie, Pennsylvania. After 6 years as an Army family they settled and they raised six children together in Cleveland, Texas. She was a loving mother, remembered for being fair and inclusive of everyone. She enjoyed gardening and she was known in the community for her 15 years of dedicated service as a Royal Braves Band Booster Mom. Many fondly remember her semi-annual greeting cards and the many custom-colored blankets that she hand-knit for us with love. Being an avid reader kept her mind sharp and curious. It was always fun to have a conversation with her.

She was preceded in death by:

Her husband John Dugan,
Her sons Sean Dugan and Dennis Dugan, and
Her sister Rita Borst.

She is survived by:

Her children Kathleen Dugan Jaap & husband Steve, Patty Dugan Zaepfel & husband Bill, Terry Dugan, Kevin Dugan & wife Tina;

Her grandchildren Glenda & Carmen Vickery Wong, Audrey McMahon Dalpe & husband Frank, John Jaap and wife Amanda, Jaime & Patrick Matheina, Emily & Daniel Thompson, Benjamin Dover, Tony Dugan, and Heather Sphon;

Her great grandchildren Helena Vickery Wong, Jude Vickery Wong, Mark Vickery Wong, Andrew Dalpe, Alaina Dalpe, John Alexander, Hannah Pickard, DJ Thompson, Brooklynn Dugan, Carolyn Dugan, Chevelle Langham, and Rylie Langham.

And her beloved dog, Jakey.

Service Information

There will be a Celebration of Life held from 11 am- 2 pm, Friday, October 4th, 2019, at Darst Funeral Home, located at 796 Russell Palmer Rd., Kingwood, TX 77339.
