OBITUARY

You see this handsome man and his forever fur baby? That’s my son and I am so proud of the man he became. There are endless stories I can share about how silly, loving and caring he was but we all have those stories because Stephon blessed us by allowing us into his world.  His circle was small and changed so much throughout the years, giving each of us a little piece of him to carry forever – this is the gift he’s left us and none of us will be the same because of it.

And the big fur baby? He decided a few years ago that it was easier to watch over Stephon from above.  But not anymore – Stephon and PD are home together and I’m sure PD brought all his friends along to greet Stephon.  I cannot imagine the welcome Stephon received when he went to be with the Lord!  I know grandpa and grandma were there, and Uncle James too.  His adopted grandpa was yelling “Teflon” when he saw that Stephon was called home.  Slade was one of Stephon’s best friends and they get to spend eternity cutting up.

I just know that he’s surrounded by all his family and is in loving hands, celebrating his homecoming.  You see, it does not matter what we think the timing should be – Stephon was an amazing young man and our Father saw that and said, “I want him by my side, he has fulfilled his purpose.”

Now we all have the honor to know that Stephon is watching over us, loving us unconditionally and he is our protector – like he always has been…he just has a different view now.

Flowers are beautiful and are such a kind gesture but I know that Stephon would love for his fur babies to be taken care of for him.  If you’d like to, donations can be made to one of Stephon’s favorite charities, Reggie’s Rescue.  You can find them at https://reggiesfriends.org/ or on Facebook.

  9. Stephon, describing our friendship and what you mean to me is a nearly impossible feat. It just ends up in stories upon stories about the store, sushi, playing games, or your horrible first craft beer experience. Those stories will always make me smile.

Working with you was always incredible. You were so funny – but SO kind and professional at the same time. You always wanted to learn more. To say that we pushed each other for greatness is an understatement. It has never been, and will never be, as fun to compete with anyone as it is with you. When I come see you this weekend, I’m bringing the “2nd place” card that I got from The Honest Kitchen to serve as the reminder from that one time you beat me that you will never let me forget. I never will forget, my friend. You win.

You deserved to do SO MUCH MORE when you were here on earth, but I know you are destined for greatness in your new life, too. I know you’re with PD. That alone might be what gets me through this.

    I love you friend.

  10. My heart is with you Liz and my son Jaden. I had great memories of Stephon when he was a kid. I remembered when he was a kid, he always watched cartoons on TV. Stephon would mock and act like some of the characters. He would make us laugh all the time. I also shared a great memory of taking him deer hunting at my uncles property in Livingston,TX. He was such a great kid. There is so much more great memories I could talk about. I know he ‘s happy with Ole PD. He will be missed dearly.

He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. We are keeping you and your family in our prayers.

  20. I will never forget hearing my name at McDonald’s and turning around to see the handsome man you had become. I immediately called your mom to tell her all about it. My dogs also owe you a big thanks. After you got the job at Natural Pawz and you talked me into coming in there. Then talked me into buying more expensive grain free dog food. They’ve been eating grain free food ever since.

You will be missed so much by so many (human and animal!).

  21. We are so sorry for your loss and we will continue to pray for peace and blessings for the family.

  25. Liz, You and your family have our deepest condolences and are in our thoughts and prayers. We pray the Lord envelopes you with His peace and comfort to endure during this difficult time.

  26. I am so sorry to hear about his passing, I became his friend when I trained him for the kingwood store when I worked for Natural Pawz. We stayed would get in touch here and there. And we really loved picking on each other at every opportunity just having a good time. We were very competitive at who would be the best at the job. I last saw him working at Kriser’s. It ignited the same back and forth of rivalry that made working together so fun. Of course, I had moved on out of the pet world but as an artist that does pet portraits it lead me there. He was someone who was kind, funny, passionate about animals, enjoyed working and had great work ethic. I am so, so sorry for his girlfriend and family, especially his mother. He met my son that day at kriser’s and I cannot even try to imagine her pain because it breaks my heart. To his mother, I wish I could hug you. You didn’t deserve to lose him like this. I’m sorry.

  27. Liz,
You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I am sorry for your loss.

  28. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family. May your memories help you through this difficult time. Love you guys from The Lathom Family

  29. We were clan mates for a bit, time when I needed it, thank you, sorry I didn’t post this sooner, thought it’d mean nothing even though I learned almost a year after. You were always chill, and knew I used to have a British accent even though I was born in KC. Wish we could have met in person, been back for 15 years 7/7 . Still think of you Silver.

  30. Thank you so much for reaching out. Today is Stephon’s birthday and I sometimes think everyone has forgotten about him.

  31. I was just thinking of Stephon today and all of the memories we had together as kids. Remembering when I knocked my front tooth out spinning in the hallway is one of my strongest – and fondest memories. He’s still so missed.

    Love you, Ms. Liz
