Obituary
Joe Alaniz was born on September 4th 1955 in Poteet, Texas and entered into rest on Tuesday August 6, 2019. He was the youngest of eight children born to his parents Virginia Alaniz and Fransisco Alaniz. Growing up in Poteet, he attended Poteet Elementary, Junior and High school. After graduation, he began a career as a Firefighter and shortly after, as a paramedic. He retired in 1999 after 21 years. After retirement, he began dedicating his time to teaching special education in Austin, Texas and later moved back to Houston were he managed a security department.
He was loving, caring, honest, hardworking and all around great man. On August 12, 2013, he was married to Olga Alaniz in San Antonio. He was a devoted member of Saint Martha’s Catholic Church and was an active member of a golf country club in Austin, Texas. . His life was forever changed by the birth of his children, becoming a firefighter, and teaching the special education students in Austin. He loved to spend his time playing golf, watching sports, going to church, and listening to Tejano music and dancing.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, TX. A funeral mass will be held for him on Friday August 16, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Martha’s Catholic Church. A graveside service will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, those in attendance are asked to meet there following mass at 12:30pm.
Service Information
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Darst Funeral Home (796 Russell Palmer Rd. Kingwood, TX 77339) from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral mass will take place on Friday August 16, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kingwood, TX. Those wishing to attend the graveside service for Mr. Alaniz will meet at Brookside Memorial Park following the mass at 12:30pm.
