Aaron Paul Nebgen

Aaron Paul Nebgen of Kingwood passed away on April 26, 2019. He was born September 16, 1980 in Huntsville, Texas. Aaron was a graduate of the University of Houston with a Degree in Accounting. His love of the outdoors drew him from an office setting to work in Forestry. From an early age, he had been involved in sports, camping, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hunting, and fishing with his dad, his older brother, Jason Nebgen, grandfather, “Fritz” Nebgen, and several lifelong friends. In high school he was an all-district defensive tackle at Caney Creek High School in Conroe, Tx. As a young man, he enjoyed welding and fabricating on four wheel drive trucks and ATV’s.

During his college years, he met his future wife, Carrie Ammons and her son Jordan Harris. Aaron and Carrie were married on July 16, 2005. They made their home in Kingwood, Tx. and on July 19, 2009, were blessed with a baby girl, Aarika. Aaron’s Forestry work included timber appraisals, global positioning and satellite imagery work, geographic info systems mapping, timber purchasing, logging coordination, and road and golf course layouts.

Aaron is survived by his daughter; his mother, Becky Ricks Vetterick; his father, Russell Nebgen and wife Linda; his older brother Jason Nebgen and wife Megan; step-sisters, Laura Coleman and husband Doug; Sarah Rutherford and husband Dustin; uncle Dennis Ricks and wife Karen; aunt Teresa Nebgen; uncle Gilbert Nebgen and wife Joyce; cousins Austin Ricks; Kimberly Jansen and husband Jim; Melissa Benson and husband Gordon; nephews, Chance Coleman, and Case Rutherford; nieces Morgan Coleman, Carson Rutherford, Hannah and Becca Coleman; as well as lifelong friends, Sean Sykorra, Jerry Geiger, and Anthony Koppi.

Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert “Fritz” and Leatrice Nebgen, and Lucian and Frances Ricks, uncle Charles Ricks, and lifelong friends, Melvin and Elaine Dohrmann.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on May 2, 2019, at Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Tx. A Minor Savings Donation Account has been set up for the daughter where donations can be made in lieu of flowers. The account can be accessed through Zelle using online banking. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Darst Funeral Home Gardens, 796 Russell Palmer Road, Kingwood, Texas 77339.
