Billy Edward Riggs Jr. December 13, 1962 to December 23, 2017

Billy Edward Riggs, Jr., 55, of Atascocita, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017, after a long battle with Diabetes.  Billy was born on December 13, 1962 in Beaumont, TX to Billy E. Riggs, Sr. and Charlotte Kimmey Riggs.

Billy graduated from French High School, Beaumont, TX in 1981, attended Tyler Jr. College.  Billy began his work career in quantity and quality control with C. J. Thibodeaux Inspection Company in Port Arthur, Texas.  Later moved to the Houston area and continued to work 30 years in the Inspection business, ending his career in Business Development with CoreLab. Billy loved volunteering for the past 14 years with Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on the Rodeo Express committee.  Most recently, he served this committee as Vice-Chairman.  Billy loved people and this is evident in the lasting friendships he has formed in both his career and the HLSR volunteering. During this time, he formed many close friendships which have lasted throughout his career.  He had a love for the outdoors and was happiest when he was in the deer stand or on the golf course.  He really loved firing up the grill while tailgating at one of the Texans games or just stirring the gumbo pot and cooking for everyone. Billy loved life and loved being around family and friends.

Billy is survived by his parents, Billy and Charlotte Riggs of Atascocita, TX; son, William Cody Riggs of Houston, TX; daughter, Annmarie Riggs of Atascocita, TX; sister, Kimberly Riggs Parsley of Klein, TX; and nephews, Drew Parsley and Ryan Parsley and niece, Laura Parsley of Klein, TX.  Billy left behind many fun, loving cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, and his lab, Max.

Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated doctors and nursing staff, especially the ones in Medical ICU at Houston Methodist Hospital, Medical Center.
